WA2EBY Amp
Has anyone tried WA2EBY 40w PA amp with the Tr Usdx. I know it was used with the sandwich usdx with filter modifications, not sure if the tr-usdx needs the same filter mods.Hoping it won't ycause the finals to go QRT on the WA2EBY. If no one has tried it yet I might just give it a shot.

Re: WA2EBY Amp
Well I hope there’s no issue since I have tried my new WA2EBY build with my (tr)uSDX. I have switchable input attenuator (3/7/10dB) so I can drive the amplifier with 1,2,5 or 10watts.

Re: WA2EBY Amp
Oh cool, I am happy someone has already tried it out. I'm in the middle of building my WA2EBY amp right now. Have you had any issues with it going QRT yet?
From what I've heard CW often caused it to go QRT.
The mod just changes the filters to LPF and then a preamp to drive the WA2EBY. Here is a video describing it.

How long have you been useing it like this?

Re: WA2EBY Amp
Hello
I just finished the amp and I haven’t used it that much since I can use only 10 watts at home safely. I didn’t catch the idea on the Youtube video, I have to watch it more carefully.
My amp is built like the original, just added those switchable pads to make it possible to operate with different radios I have. So no specific changes due (tr)uSDX.
I’m happy to hear your thoughts about those mods needed.

Re: WA2EBY Amp
Sunil - VU3SUA has had a pcb designed for the WA2EBY and a low pass board which is gaining popularity over in India and is under 100$, alot of hams are useing it with easybitx's, ubitx and usdx's but found that when useing them with Usdx's it burns the finals after a short time because your feeding a E-Class amp into a AB linar Amp and the WA2EBY is a little sensitive.
I'm was curious how much you have actually used it. I'm going to give it a shot and hope the finals don't burn, they are easy to replace if they do anyways.
Would be a great combo if it works and super cheap. The Mod works but you kinda loose the ability to use it without the amp. As it now outputs very low power with the mod.
