Feedback thread for Firmware 2.00v/w/x BETA

Update: New changes (2.00x based on user-feedback):
1. Fix to nicely cleanup the pwr/s-meter display when using CAT RX/TX (REMOVED again as it makes things too slow for FT8CN).
2. Many people asked this back: Menu items (Filter BW, Band, Tuning Rate, VFO, RIT, NR) so they are back again! However, PLEASE HAVE A LOOK at these button shortcuts as it makes your (tr)uSDX much easier and nicer to use:
3. Removed Practice mode from menu to further cleanup (now TX Drive setting to 0 do the same, no RF output).
4. Removed frequency/mode memorisation per band, as we do not have the space for this now (if you really want this, try the alpha version).

Previous Changes (2.00v):
5. AM/FM are back (menu item 1.2, 3.3 sets mod index)
6. Transceiver Power-off/down on full left volume turn (below 0), enable again by pressing button
7. Menu cleanup, removed: PA Bias min (0 now), NR (OFF now), CW decoder (always ON now), ATT/ATT2
8. Fix for annoying tuningstep changes when changing volume
9. Frequency and mode now memorized per band (REMOVED)
10. TX power meter now visible for CAT as well
11. Improved SSB TX by I/Q normalization (to prevent overload on loud mic -input in the phase calculations)
12. Android FT8CN USB support for (tr)uSDX https://github.com/N0BOY/FT8CN/releases, thanks!

Older changes (in 2.00u):
13. ALC/Power/Voltage meter during SSB TX. TX modulation overload indication "999"
14. USB digimode/WSJTX support, audio over USB. PC driver: https://github.com/threeme3/trusdx-audio
15. Better VFO
16. Spectrum display (hold left button and tune at the same time), change tuning steps to zoom-in/out
17. Additional CW messages 1..6, to play them in CW mode, go to CW message and press left button

Hello friends,
running on a new FW 2.00v from today, previously was on 2.00u.
I recently tried FT8 CAT through USB of (tr)uSDX, (without CAT audio cable). There was issues during driver install, but finally it was configured fine.
FT8 works fine, but unstable: time to time, driver or wsjt-x through driver resets rig, and it starts to miss rx frames, please see screenshot.
Same issue was with 2.00u, tried today 2.00v, seems less resets, but still unstable.
Tried different microUSB cables, but result the same.

Do someone has successful long time experience with (tr)uSDX USB CAT mode?

UPD: sometimes such error popups, reset and reconnect microUSB cable helps for a while.

V2.00v seems to be working good however I don't see a way to change the BW, it's stuck on 4K.

I observed some things myself:
Whenever i unplug the radio and replug it: Frequency is 1 KHz up.

Bandwidth: I had one instance, where I would not copy any solid CW Signal anymore. I then realized the BW was at 4KHz.... Don´t know how that happened. After I narrowed it to CW Standard 500Hz Filter everything fine again.

I guess the memory stays from the LSB/USB bandwith for some reason?

Concerning new beta version, I observe sometimes when SWR area of the display is not cleared after exiting from Tx mode:

Hello Guido, I'm observing the same thing. After the transmission, PWR will remain visible on RX screen.

Liking it so far. first time using the usb cat driver - just worked on Win 11 using jAReC (installed just now as well). I also just installed PocketRXTX lite and that saw the radio and controlled it just fine after setting it to the correct comm port and specifying Kenwood TS-480. After those successes, I installed FT8CN 0.91 beta and immediately started receiving. Excellent work, I'll keep going through the motions but wanted to try digital modes first. Band selection did confuse me at first as well.

Dear development team,

I used the noise reduction (NR) till 2.00u and was happy with it.
Why is the NR feature removed in 2.00v ?
I prefer to keep NR in the (tr)usdx available.
It is a good function in ssb qso reducing noise.
Might you check if there is a possibility to let NR rest in the future firmware path ?

If it is a problem of memory spare:
I do not need AM/FM.
I do not need FT8.
I do not need CW (at the moment).
I do not need spectrum.
Perhaps there are different firmware versions with different feature paths selectable.
Then I take the "SSB full feature set with NR"

Downloaded the new beta tonight. When I click the left button to bring up menus I show

is this correct? If I fast press the right button I get bandwidth options abd the center button allows band change, but they do not show up on the menu screen

Thanks for the firmware upgrade. Most of the new features are beneficial. Perhaps it still bothers me that the spectroscope cannot be switched on permanently for band monitoring. Also, please turn off the CW decoder. Anyone who knows CW is extremely annoyed by this. I can declare that my brain is a far better decoder than any HI automaton. Milan OK1IF

Perhaps one more small reminder. The set CW transmission speed does not agree with the reality by about 2WPM (the reality is a lower speed). The timing of the mark is different from the standard (dot to dash and space ratio). Also, it's strange to me why the Ref freq setting doesn't agree with the previous version and a correction was necessary (of course it doesn't matter at all).

are there any changes related to CAT interface in version 2.00w?

I'm asking because I'm having connection issues using FT8CN_0.91p1_New_Resample. If I switch back to version 2.00v everything is working fine.
