You used wrong serial number. When downloading the firmware, put in displayed serial number…

You shoud do your homework...
Low/classic/high is changed in the menu.
After firmware flash you shoud reset it, push and hold vhf knob while plugging it to power supply...

Maybe a reset will help, power it on with rotary encoder pressed…

Beta firmware has different speed, it went from 38k to 115k…

Firmware is not open source. It has to be done by Guido.
But in sandwich project it was easy to flip it, and i am not a programmer…

Kits have all SMD devices soldered, only through hole devices need to be installed.
Ferrite cores are small, but way bigger than any smd…

I think that beta changed to official one.
Just install the most recent one and that should be it…

Well, powering from usb should roughly give you 0,5w.
So, you are quite close to what it should be.
Needs some toroids tweaking.
Do you have reception now?

HI H57L.Where and at what price did you buy your FDT86256. I also burned an FDT86256, which I think is the cause of poor heat dissipation. There are very cheap FDT86256 on the market, and I also doubt whether they are authentic. I had them in stock, i bought it from reputable eu seller a while ago....

I think Manuel explained it very well in his many videos posted.
Perhaps start with low voltage, like usb power.

No science here, just on/off key… or dit/dah/common if you use internal keyer…

If you want to save some output fets, use current limiter or usb power, not 12v, for experimenting.
I burned about 10 fdt86256 and even more bs170… but i did experiment a lot.
Class e is not the easiest thing to tune…
Fets are cheap, buy spares and do not be discouraged.
