Re: Fix for bad sideband suppression on 30 and 20m Band

What minimum voltage rating is needed here? Do you need to use a film cap or an npo/cog cap? Will an electrolytic do? Can you use a X7R cap? (0805 and 0603 available) Is this only for reception or does it cure the "splatter" transmit audio problem found in some units? And does it officiall...

Re: Does anyone in the US repair a (tr)uSDX

So..... Are the machined round pins or the square pins better? For me, the parameter to judge would be good and reliable continuity despite multiple disconnects and reconnects. I think I would want all my boards to be interchangable and use all the same kind of connector. Cost plus shipping, what's ...

Re: Tx not working anymore after 12v bad plug in

My error, I was thinking on top of control board (about5mm) and it would be below, between the control and RF boards. How many mm is that? Looks like one would need at least 8mm.

Re: Tx not working anymore after 12v bad plug in

I don't think there is room for a 16v 1000uF, using aluminium electrolytic I think the biggest I can find that I am sure will fit is a 150uF. At least between the top board and the case. Could be wrong...
If you manage to do it please post a picture and share the details.

Re: Enabling VOX causes bad RX

I had two from one group buy. On one the vox seems to work ok, but on the other, if I turn the vox on, the resting power use doubles and it kinda locks up, the button response and screen mostly stop responding, it pretty much crashes and have to cycle the power. I reloaded the firm ware and it seeme...

Re: Side Tone at Power on & Bands covered.

If the volume is too loud the internal speaker squeels, it just does that, so don't set the volume too loud when using the internal speaker. I suspect that's what you have noticed. There are three sets of bands possible for the rig, your rf board will be set up for only one of those three choices. I...

How closely should the 470nF C25-28 caps be matched to keep the two sides of the Tayloe detector tightly balanced? 0.1%, 1%, 2%, 5%,10%, or 20% caps? Some times it's cheaper to buy a bunch of 10% parts than to get four 1% ones, and then out of the bunch find four that are within a couple percent of ...

Re: More comprehensive Schematic by KD4SGE & WA4ITD

How closely should the 470nF C25-28 caps be matched to keep the two sides of the Tayloe detector tightly balanced? I ask because the 0603 tants are 10% tolerance. And pricey if getting a bunch. Tnx P.S. on the enhanced schematic, main board, page 2, the values for C24 and C30 are listed as 100n but ...
