No display
Yesterday, I got my kit from China. I soldered it with modified OLED except the Speaker.
When I connect it to USB, a COM-Port is assigned, but no display on the OLED. After short time, I hear relais clicking.
Using AVRdude, I can read-out memory..
The OLED has address 0x78. Is this OK? My OLEDs have 0x3C.

Re: No display
0x78 is correct. When looking at the front of the OLED the pinout should be:
Gnd - VCC - SCL - SDA
Some OLEDs have them reversed.

Re: No display
Hi All,
I just put together (tr)SDX from *Rxxxx* following closely Manuel's video instructions. When I connected to power source (13V) I have blank screen. Is this normal? I checked VCC on display and it is 4.9V. Am I missing something? I checked and double checked soldering, saying that all chips and SMD were already soldered in place.
I'm rather fresh, although I build earlier kit converting QCX Mini into uSDX and that works great, so any pointers much appreciated. I do not have oscilloscope just multimeter.
Thx.

Re: No display
Have you flashed the bootloader?

Re: No display
No I did not flash Bootloader as yet. Should I do this first, before connecting power just to see if it is alive?

Re: No display
Until you flash the bootloader, there isn't anything to display.
Once the bootloader and firmware are flashed, I would test it first just with USB power only. Then if it is behaving normally, try 12 volts.

Buy a USBAsp...more reliable than hooking up an arduino

Re: No display
No display fixed. After installing Bootloader serial number has been displayed and installing firmware went smoothly too. Very happy with *Rxxxx* kit.
On to next niggle, receiver is about 25khz below actual frequency.

Re: No display
My Problem is solved in the meantime: The Display was defective !
I ordered a new one, now it works.
Prgramming the Bootloader and the Firmware worked fine.
Gratulation to the fantastic developers !!!

Re: No display
I realize that I'm late to the party but I just recently was able to finish my assembly. I attached USB power and I had no display. No Problem (I thought.) I loaded the Bootloader and still no display. I connected 12Volt power and still no display. I can read 4.36 volts on the OLED (GND to VCC) and that's the extend of my test equipment.
Is there anything else I can/should check?
Any help is appreciated.

Re: No display
Hello OM,
did you connect it to different USB power supplies? Try it please before 12V...
If there is no success see the assembly Videos and have a look at your solder joints....
If your Vcc 5V on the PCB is much lower than 5V there must be a solder blob or component mismatch.
You will get only something on OLED when you have burnt the Bootloader or you can burn the Beta Firmware without the Bootloader in advance.
See DL2MANs Firmware page.

Re: No display
Chris, Thanks for your response. When I attempted to Load the Bootloader I powered the Main board from my UNO through the ISP header. I read 4.9volts out of my UNO. Yes the lower voltage is from my Android Phone charger.
I will inspect all my solder joints later today and post back what I find.

Re: No display
It's ALIVE!!!
Thank-You Chris! I took a very close look at the OLED pins and it looked good on the bottom of the main board but with a closer inspection there was a void on the top of main board on one pin. I heated and resoldered all four pins. I powered the main board and there was my serial number.
Now, on to the firmware.
Thanks again.
