Frequency Drift during TX

Post by KO4AWH »

Any recommendations on addressing frequency drift? When running WSPR on 20m my TRX shows -4 drift. A drift of -4hz is seen on first TX 2min cycle. It then takes about 4 minutes to settle back down on RX. Where is time kept? Is there a dedicated crystal or does the ATmega328P-AU keep the time?

Frequency drift is normal, especially during initial startup and heating of components. The (tr)uSDX uses crystal oscillators (please review the schematic) - these are not TCXOs.

As Faraaz said:
A little initial drift is normal, but it should settle.
I ran WSPR in 24hrs shifts, and there was no drift reported...
