BS170 max safe operating area

Post by gkimjenkins »

BS170 max safe operating area data sheet: At 5V supply (usb) and estimated 500mW output drain current of 100mA is below DC operation. Does this mean WSPR operation at 5V supply is safe?

I love your radio! Great work the community appreciates.

What voltage did you run the 24 hour WSPR?

Thanks again!

At 13,8V at full 5W out and in another Session at around 9V for abt. 1 W Out.
To fully answer your question:
If your Antenna has good SWR und you´re in the 80% PLUS Efficiency Range, there´s no danger at all for the BS170´s at Full Power.
