Very bad receiving

Post by rmdlv »

When powered by 13.8V, the received noise is so strong that it makes it impossible to hear a useful signal. However, the problem disappears if I use 5V from the USB. The noise emits directly from the uSDX during operation, and looks as follows on the waterfall https://i.imgur.com/dknrJou.png

Did you do the LCD mod to not use the charge pump? If no, you should. If yes, you can also consider my variation on the mod for a brighter LCD, search the forum is that interests you.

I don't quite follow you. What does this have to do with radio interference when the power is turned on?

The charge pump on the display can add quite a bit of internal RF noise.

This guy LY2H makes a comparison between the truSDx and the QCX. I feel he is unnecessarily negative. He points out the RF noise on the truSDx:

Is this noise from the charge pump? Is the LCD mod completely explained?
