Incorrect frequency

Post by KF7RH »

Greetings. Received my new (tr)uSDX assembled from approved online vendor. Very impressed with the radio. One problem however, the frequency readout appears to be off by exactly 1.0 Khz. For example, when I transmit on 14.063, reverse beacon picks me up 0n 14.062. Receiving W1AW code practice transmission on 14.0475, my readout has to be 14.0485. So looks like both transmit and receive affected. Not sure if I need to adjust the frequency calibration number in the menu. Seems odd both receive and transmit off by same amount. Suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks.

Yeah, that's exactly the purpose of the reference frequency setting in the menu :) Try to adjust it and see the result. It's pretty quick to set, and hopefully once you have it spot-on, you likely won't have to adjust again.

Thanks, kind of what I thought but didn't want to try that unless there wasn't a more obvious answer, like operator error.

Would some of you please post what you actually ended up setting the reference frequency to get an accurate display of your actual frequency.

I don't have another HF radio to tune in to. I tried using wspr reports and I show as off by 1500Hz(+).

Thanks in advance
