Capacitors type to replace

Post by CS7BEK »

Hi,
My name is Francisco, my callsign is CS7BEK and I've burned the C2 and C41 capacitors due to a faulty 12V plug that had reverse polarity.
I know that they are 10 uF but I would like to know if a SMD type, multilayer, 10 uF, 6.3 V, 20% capacitor is indicated to replace them.

Thanks.

Hi y'all.
I've determined that the capacitor mention above would not be a correct choice to replace the C41 and C2. Can you point me towards the right ones?

The info in the "TRUSDX-Main-BOM-1.2" https://dl2man.de/wp-content/uploads/20 ... OM_1_2.csv indicates they are tantalum capacitors (Capacitor_Tantalum_SMD:CP_EIA-3216-18_Kemet-A).

Now if you have a closer look to the BOM, Al has linked, in the right colum, there is a LCSC Number.
In this case it´s "C7171".
Now go to lcsc.com and enter C7171 in the search field, then you have the EXACT type, that we used.
Everything is very well documented ;)

And just to mention that:
5V rating is too low on the 12V, this is why we chose 16V.
And watch out: Tantalums, as well as Eletrolytic caps have polarity !
If you solder them the wrong way, they will smoke immediately.
