Good evening everyone,
I was at the local amateur radio shop and they had a genuine (tr)uSDX at a friendly price so I picked it up. Unfortunately it did not come with the serial number. Is the serial number written on the printed circuit board inside or inside the case? If not I have the option to return the unit within a couple of days. The display does not have a call sign, just trusdx is displayed. As soon as I figure out how to send a smaller photo I will attach one to the message but as I said this genuinely seems to be a real (tr)uSDX. Is there a serial number burned into the processor I can recover?
Thanks,
Randy

Re: Serial number recovery?
you can find the following info by making a 10 second search here in the forum.
Your callsign is entered when you download the operating firmware https://dl2man.de/3b-trusdx-firmware/ . If you don't know your serial number, enter 18 zeros for a serial number and download. When you write it to your (tr)uSDX (using avr-dudess), it will fail but the radio display will show your correct serial number. Download again using the correct serial number and your callsign.

Thank you for the help! I'll give it a try later today. I'll post a photo of the rig later as soon as I can get the photo below 256k!

Re: Serial number recovery?
The recovery process worked well. Now to fix the issue with avrdude so that I can load the firmware.
