Off Frequency

Post by Eaton »

Helloooo. And thanks for this very nice QRP rig. This is my second one as the first had no Rx and barely any Tx output wattage as indicated on a dummy load. The second radio I received yesterday I made an immediate contact from NYC to Florida on 20M with a POTA station but while using a reference FTDX10 to monitor the audio I realized that the Beautiful Orange Beast was not transmitting on the monitored freq and is actually off by 1kHZ as verified by my second contact in Tennessee. What would cause this and what is the fix if any?

Kind Regards;

The frequency calibration on my trusdx is different on every bands, and by some degree of deviation.
For example, if I calibrate 20m, 40m as a deviation around -50hz and 80m about -100hz.
15m about +50hz and 10m about +100hz.
Is it normal to correct manually always when I change band ?

I like to confirm my transmit frequency with the reverse beacon network.
