Hi,
I have some strange intermittent button issue on my trusdx.
Sometimes when I press the Enter button it opens the menu. And I have to keep repeatedly pressing the Enter button to get it to do it's function rather than go into menu.
Any ideas how this can he fixed ?
Kind regards
Enter / Menu button

Re: Enter / Menu button
Hey,
Had the same issue, and, apparently, just fixed it.
The issue was not as noticeable in the first couple days, sometimes it would be just the enter button being wonky and opening the menu instead of switching modes/bandwidth. After a couple days, especially after giving both boards a cleanup using isopropyl, it got way worse. All buttons were in casino mode. Every push in every button other than the PTT had a random outcome.
Read in some other post that in their case, it was a bad solder job in the atmega CPU.
Took a look with a magnifier and indeed, my batch was certainly done on solder saving mode.
Added some solder and retouched the CPU's pins using flux. All buttons work properly now.
For anyone who reads this and wishes to give it a try, make sure you know what you are doing before trying. YouTube is your friend, don't be a cowboy.

Thanks for getting back to me,
I thought i was going mad it is very annoying but intermittent on mine, I will inspect all the solder joints round the atmega. And have plenty of practice before I go at it with a soldering iron.

Re: Enter / Menu button
Hi,
I have resoldered the pins of the atmega they all look good now, used good flux and solder.
First test I was really happy the buttons worked as they should. Then I reassembled and was disapointed to find the issue was back again.
Assuming I have done a good job and all the pins are infact soldered properly does anyone have any ideas what else could be causing this?

I'm back in the same boat as you buddy. Worked great for a while and now the issue is back, and worse. Pressing the rotary button does absolutely nothing now. Good thing everything can be switched from the menus. I believe on top of the buttons having weird behavior, I now have a malfunctioning rotary button that lost its press function.
Just to recap, the enter button sometimes opens the menu, sonetimes it switches bands. The menu button seems to work properly at all times.
@DL2MAN would you be so king to point us directions to go from here? I will probably be replacing the rotary button anyway for a low profile one in the near future but I don't believe it will fix the other issues.
Cheers
