Receiver sensivity bad?
Good Evening all. I have successfully set up my (tr)uSDX for FT8, CAT and PTT work well. When connected to a resonate antenna, I rarely see any FT8 contacts. However, when I move the antenna to another unit, ICOM-7300, there are plenty of contacts. Is there something I'm missing on setting audio levels from the uSDX into my Windows 11 machine? FT8 shows the input level is fine, but no contacts, either on the FT8 interface or the graph. What am I missing? Thanks in advance. 73 DE K1LHJ

Re: Receiver sensivity bad?
Let me give it a stab..
When you say all was successful.
I assume you could make it click through the steps and key up to transmit using software via USB
Is this a kit or prebuilt?
When you connect your antenna to the ICOMM 7300 do you neck down to SMA ?
chances are no..
What is the exact method or path to get that center wire connected ?
Queue up the ohm meter !
Let me tell you what happened to me. I wanted to ditch that brass knob and use a short length of tiny coax that went from SMA to SO 239. Well the little male end of the SMA had no copper sticking out to mate into the female end within the radio's SMA connection.( It might be a different spec ?? ) I burnt a few FET's learning that one.
At the next HAM tail gate I was able to find an adapter that had a copper stub sticking out of the SMA and chalked up that as a win.
If you built it and have continuity all the way to the center hole of the radio then I would assume the torrid coil wires were not scrapped enough before installing.
Lettuce know how it goes !
