Power supply connector

The power supply connector is only slightly soldered and has started to shaking at my device.

I soldered the socket at the (tr) SDX and made a solution with cable and additional socket for the plug-in power supply. Thus, the bushing on the device is no longer loaded when the power supply is plugged in and out. In addition, I installed a bridge rectifier in the supply line to avoid false polarity too.
I know I'm losing 0.7 volts
But I don't have any problems with false polarity

Nice idea with the bridge rectifier. A simple diode would protect, too - but would not power the system with wrong polarity. And as a bridge rectifier electricity will cross 2 diodes, so you loose 1.4V :ugeek:

I use an adapter to Anderson PowerPoles as with all the rest of my equipment, thus there is minimal risk of wrong polarity. ;-)

Some german OMs from our 1st round asked about a matching power plug... I bought this one:

It is not that superb high quality one... but it fits.

I use this, on the end of a standard usb-c cable, from a Pd-compatible powerbank.

USB supplies only 5 volts, this means reduced HF output power

USB-C PD can also supply higher voltages like 12V. However this requires an agreement with the end device. But there are small boards available with a push button that can be used to select the desired voltage.

However I do not know about the amount of noise that is generated by the upconverter.

This ham has good results with a powerbank. No appreciable noise.
