Contesting with (tr)uSDX

Post by DL2MAN »

Hi Guys,

This is not really hot NEWS, but back in December 2021, I attended OQRP Contest with my (tr)uSDX Prototype. This was documented in at least 2 Videos:

and

Now Mid 2023 finally the results are in:
http://www.qrpcc.de/contestergebnisse/o ... index.html

David DL1DN (QRP Lifestyle) made Rank 6 in VLP Class (1W and below) and he was doing only SSB with (tr)uSDX.
Myself (DL2MAN) Made Rank 4 in 5 Watt Class, making only CW QSOs + 1 SSB QSO with David with (tr)uSDX Prototype.

This shows, that (tr)uSDX is very capable in competing against other (way more enhanced and established) radios.....

Just wanted to share that with you.

Congrats to both of you!

I'm not much of a contester, but do play around in them sometimes with the (tr)usdx and a vertical fan dipole. It's fun to see if I can get through all the QRM to these kilowatt/beam stations, and the new spectrum scope is particularly helpful in finding stations in a contest!

I had 150 QSO's and 41 DXCC entities in the CQ WPX SSB contest back in the spring with the (tr)usdx classic band, just chasing. Pretty cool, and way more fun than using 100 watts. Maybe one day I'll do it seriously
