Australia group buy - VK4JJ - COMPLETE

Thought I would start this thread to keep you updated on the group buy.

Boards have been collected by DHL and are in Hong Kong customs.
Ordered the Mouser parts today - unfortunately, I did not factor in the GST which has come to $130 dollars. If anyone is feeling kind and wants to send me a couple of dollars via Paypal to cover this, I'd be grateful

Small parts have been ordered via LCSC

Most of the OLEDs have arrived - got a bunch of stuff from Aliexpress coming e.g. SMA jacks, rotary encoders etc.

Got a kind offer of cost-price 3D printing for fifteen lucky people.

You might like to review your VK postal costs also as the VK PO is notorious for increasing parcel rates on a regular basis.
There's a calculator on the Auspost web site if you know or can reasonably guess the total weight of the package to give shipping cost in VK.

4/1/2022:

A not-unexpected hiccup in the VK group buy.

I received a call from DHL today - there was a $266 AUD import taxes and fees on the PCBs. $88 to Aus Customs, $22 handling fee for DHL and the rest GST/duties.

The cost will be passed on to you at $5.50 per unit.

This does mean that it will have to be spread out amongst the group. If you have generously sent me a little bit extra, I will take any outstanding amounts out of this. If you haven't, or donations didn't cover this charge, you will receive an email from me in the next week or so.

Please DO NOT send me any money at the moment - wait for the email with your individualised amount in it.

I'm afraid you're a little late to the party on this group buy - it is full.

I may run another one in March or April and I know of a ham in WA who may be setting up another group buy. I'll keep you posted.

There is likely to be another VK group buy soon - I was speaking to someone today about it. And I might be persuaded to run another in a few months if this one works out OK.
