My kit had no bootloader flashed.

Hari I agree with your observation. Looks wrong.

Looking at the LT6231 datasheet the side with pin nr one has a bevel (Deutsch: Schräge bzw Phase)

Hi Dieter,
Hi everyone from buygroup 1,

I guess Q4 and Q5 are intentionally not populated on the Front of the RF board?
The components were not included in my kit.

EDIT: Sorry. I found out that those are just alternatives to the 3 BS170 for future experiments.
All good

How is the situation for you?

Q4 and Q5 on the RF-Board are spare Footprints. They are for future experiments and do not need to be placed or sourced !!!

You can read it on DL2MAN-Page.

Missing bootloader

Posted: 25 Apr 2022, 11:38
by Uli
Dear all,

About the missing bootloader:
Does this mean that nearly 100 hams each have to buy an Arduino UNO?

Or is there a smarter solution?
Maybe even one that is close to the spirit of the group buy?
("The Bootloader should be burnt onto the devices by the Group Buy Organizer.")

Suggestions welcome!

P.S.: If all else fails: I could volunteer to buy an Arduino UNO and (if it works with my kit) to program others as well.

The OE-DL group buy here is closed anyway.
And the USBAsp is cheaper than sending it back and forth postage.

Dear Matt,

Thank you for the advice concerning the USBAsp!
It is cheaper than the Arduino UNO by a factor of 5 or so.

You are right of course: at this price sending the kits around wouldn't make sense...

Hello,

Did someone else has this problems with unstable operation (mainly on changing frequency or navigating menus) ?
I know that at least one other participant has exactly the same problem. See separate thread:

It could be that the decoder bounces. To prevent this, there is normaly a code in the programming, as far as I know.
You can also solder debouncing capacitors to the pins.
But I think that the C32 and C33 are here already intended for this.
But I do not know, if this is here the problem.

Okay that would be a simple addition.
That sounds like a solution for missing or dropped encoder rotations? But that is not the problem.

Or would that explain why the software completely locks and resets? One can hear that the relais get reset due to a "restart / reboot"

OLED modification correct?

Dear all,

I know that this group buy is long closed. As, however, this question is specific to the OLED display supplied with the OE/DL Group Buy I, it is probably best adressed here:

I just wanted to check whether one of you can confirm that the following modification is correct. (I am not completely sure, as the component specifications and positions are not exactly the same as in Manuel's documents and video. For instance is Q1 the same as U2?)

Thank you for your help!

P.S.: I used an enamel wire, so it is isolated except for the ends of course.

That's how I did it and the display works.

Thanks very much, Joe, this is a great help!
Apart from the fact that you did a much nicer job with the wire, electrically both should be the same.
(So my mistake must be on the mainboard...)
