(tr)uSDX resets on serial connect

When opening a serial terminal to the (tr)uSDX, it always resets. The serial itself does work after the reset. I do see this output when starting the terminal (e.g. via picocom):

It also replies to 'FA;' with 'FA00007023140;'.

In JTDX I do get a "rig control error", as the (tr)uSDX instantly resets when I press 'Test CAT'. The JTDX log gives:

Hello OM,

there could be a ground loop between gnd of USB and gnd of your power supply originting from capacitive coupling or other coupling.
There was also a trick to do in Linux, but as i remember it was only for JS8Call, please search a little bit in the forum therefore.
To get rid of a gnd loop, use a battery!

Hi Chris,

thanks a lot for your reply. The 12V power is supplied via a 12V 18Ah lead acid battery. USB is directly connected to the PC (no powered hub in between). So likely not a ground loop. JTDX workaround would likely not help for trusdx-audio, right?
Any other ideas?

Regardless of this the bootloader starts fine, shows the serial, and flashing the 2.0 beta firmware works fine (and verification succeeds). But the behavior regarding the serial port is the same, always resets on connect. Would the content mismatch possibly indicate an issue with the atmel chip?

Ok, something was apparently not correct with the atmel 328pb on my board (from the Austrian group buy). I've replaced the chip with a 328p and now the bootloader flashes fine without errors (also the fuses now match). Of course I now have got a different serial, so waiting for the devs to put my new serial in the database.

ok, serial reset behavior also occurs with the new 328p. But likely this is not wrong behavior but expected reset for firmware upgrades. Things are at least working fine now on Windows, it only resets once when trusdx-audio is started (on my specific linux installation the python script seems to run into an exception around pulseaudio, hence the frequent restarts)
