Pwr and SWR indicate 0w and 9.99

Post by M0MBO »

Hello,

My (tr)uSDX is newly built and everything is working correctly except for the pwr and swr readings on the top line of the display.

I have currently only populated the 40m LPF.
On CW mode it indicates pwr = 0 and swr = 9.99.
On LSB there is no pwr and swr data.
On an externally connected pwr/swr meter and dummy load it indicates 2.5w and swr of 1, as I'd expect.
I have checked the t1/t2 connections.

I have probably missed something obvious, but wanted to check in with the experts.

Hi Malcolm,

You could use a meter to make sure your bridge is generating a voltage whilst you transmit. Looking at the schematic you can get to fwd and ref easily at R6-C7 for the former and R5-C8 for the latter. I just did it, I got about 30 mV for fwd and 1.7 volts for ref.

Also, maybe cycle through the menu settings for swr to what that does for you.

That is the case, when the AtMega gets no Signals from SWR Bridge, so either check Transformers, check Inter PCB Connection for continuity and more unlikely: Check the rectifier Diodes.

That´s normal. SWR for SSB is not yet implemented in Software. Is more complicated than thought.... Guido is working on it.

Re-.check again and again.... Copper Enamel Wire is a bi**h.... Also check your Relay Soldering and your 40m Coils....

Re: Pwr and SWR indicate 0w and 9.99 - FIXED

Issue Solved...

Manuel's guess was correct; T1 secondary winding rewound, copper wires carefully cleaned and re-soldered.
The pwr & swr on the top line now perfectly match my external meter reading.

Thanks
Malc
