Reliability
How reliable is this radio as received... I had thought about buying the ubitx version 6 but after reading the site emails, it seems to be very problematic. I am looking for a reliable qrp radio I don't need to or care to modify. Thanks... NL7QT

Re: Reliability
If you want reliability, I suggest purchasing a commercial rig, like ic705.

Re: Reliability
I find the trusdx a great educational radio.
It has been a great learning experience in many ways for me.
But even buying a ready made version I understand that to get the best out of it you will need to make some final tuning adjustments.
Value for buck is brilliant.
Maybe get one as well as your next reliable QRP radio

Re: Reliability
Thanks for being honest. I live on a remote island in Alaska with 3 other people. We are off grid and need reliable emergency radio back up.

Re: Reliability
I think the (tr)USDX is a great backup radio for the buck. I don't know of another radio in its price range that does CW and SSB. I'd recommend building one and trying it out on the Motley net, you may be surprised with its performance!

Re: Reliability
Thanks .. That was my next option. There are some good reviews on utube. I tried one of the Chinese usdx clones but it was junkyard material. Sent it back for replacement and never heard another word.
