External Mic = 0.2 Watts, Internal Mic = 4 Watts..?

Post by K4GUA »

Hello there,

First post. I am a new ham. I got the trusdx from an approved seller on Amazon, and I use an EFHW antenna. I am also using the beta firmware.

I have been testing portable power options and noticed something interesting. I have an external microphone. If I plug it in and use it, the output power shows as 0.2 Watts. If I unplug the external microphone and use the internal one, my output is 4 Watts.

Is there some reason for this?

Thanks for reading and hopefully responding.

Maybe it has something to do with mic gain? Perhaps you ought to check the settings and see if you can find the solution there.

I was talking to my buddy and he thinks it is the type of 3.5mm jack I am using.

Thank you for asking.

There is zero signal with external mic on the band scope…

Assume the mic was rewired as shown in message https://forum.dl2man.de/viewtopic.php?p=2323#p2323
