Hi everyone,
I've had my (tr)uSDX for a little over a year and love it so much I just bought a second. The only "big" problem I've run into is the lack of high SWR protection, which could be solved by me being a bit more careful with checking SWRs before transmitting. I'm usually in a rush at a POTA park and have made this careless mistake twice (and paid the price).
However, in an effort to me-proof the finals so I don't have to keep torturing the poor PCB with repairs, I stumbled on this video where someone uses a zener diode for their usdx for this purpose. Do we think this may work for the (tr)uSDX?
Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

Re: High SWR Protection?
Hello,
I have popped both versions of output finals more than once. I was thinking of a solution within the QRP Guys site and found their neat toys for us there under the accessories
For some zenoer protection, the heat sink BS170 board looks like the bees knees if you can salvage the Q3 holes to mount this add on board.

I will be getting this once they come back from their summer break...

Wow, that is fantastic! I had no idea that made something like that specifically for the (tr)usdx. When they get back from their summer break I'll definitely be ordering 2 of these boards, thanks again for sharing that!
