Hello,

I just raised new topic to start a discussion about group purchase of the complete kit, with a case if possible.
Maybe there will be around 50 kits to purchase - as this is the optimal amount according to Manuel's manual.

stworzyłem nowy wątek aby rozpocząć dyskusję o zakupie grupowym kompletnego zestawu PCB, i jeśli mozliwe to również obudowy.
Może znajdzie się grupa chętnych do zakupu około 50 zestawów? Taka liczba jest optymalna do zamówienia w Chinach - zgodnie z instrukcją Manuela.

Dear All,

What was a surprise to me when I checked the forum and saw so much interest - not only from PL but also from the whole EU... from Lituania to Portugal.
We are interested in purchasing 27 kits at the moment. Targeting 50.
So if anybody else is interested -> please post a message on this topic. It is not a final commitment at the moment.

I did not make an order in JLCPCB before, so if somebody has the experience and is willing to make an actual purchase - just let me know - I will warmly invite help. Otherwise, I will do it, not seem a difficult task to do.

There are a few things to clarify early:
1) sending abroad Poland - I will check what is shipment cost by Post of Poland to Portugal and Lithuania. I guess it is a flat price for the whole EU, but need to check. [Adam, by this week]
2) Regarding enclosure, I do not know person/company who can print it for us (besides US guy on groups.io who does it for them). If you know such person/company, then I can order and put to one package with the kits - savings on multi-shipment fees
[Anybody, by next week 1/14]
3) Once we have ~ 50 kits ordered, I will prepare a google survey to collect all necessary data (name, address, kits no, email) [Adam]
4) Money transfer - 50 kits with SMD will cost some serious amount of $. I will collect money before the order, I wish to avoid the situation of late resignation also. I prefer wire transfers (Przelew bankowy) - it is free in Poland, and flat fee in EU - what I know from PL banks. Regarding Paypal - I have experience using it for purchase payment - not private transfers. But if wire transfer will be expensive in your country, we can manage PayPal.
5) what the total cost? I will calculate it before real orders, so everybody will know what will receive for what $$ [Adam]
6) I am not sure how Polish Tax&Duty will treat big package from China. Usually Aliexpress purchases arrive smoothly, without any bother, but 50 kits would be bigger box than I usually order. If you have any expirence - please let me know on priv.


So, what next? Let's wait for 50 or close to 50 kits to be declared. If you have the productive answer to any of above questions - please send it on the forum, or to me privately (if there is any reason).

I am quite busy during weekdays, but will try to respond in the evening.

Some good rules from experienced US Buy Group veteran - plan to follow them >>
NEW USA GROUP BUY....

Also collect money in full to cover expenses. and lock in reservation. If pay-pal is OK make sure they know it's "goods and services". adjust for fees accordingly. If you accept money orders make sure they are only USPS money orders.. those convenience store money orders .. hell the convenience store that sells them won't even cash them.

COVER YOUR BASES:
#1. Specify if you don't take BITCOIN, magic beans or any other internet currency. ..
#2. Specify in the group buy - updates only 1st and 3rd Mondays.. So you won't be deluged with hundreds of "Are we there yet" emails.
#3. Announce when the NEW USA Group buy is CLOSED...else it will cause #2 Second sentence.
#4. Be clear with a minimum number of kits, and a maximum number in the Announcement.

Thanks for volunteering to coordinate this group buy - your callsign will appear in the topic title now.

Two things to note from my experience running a fifty piece group buy (my full tips here viewtopic.php?p=222#p222 )

-Mouser prices are quoted without tax. Make sure to factor this in carefully when looking at components. I was hit with an unexpected extra 10% on checkout which is no small change.

-JLPCB: it is simple to follow the process. You are right - this is an expensive order. I have just been charged import duties and tax, around 17% total fee when shipping through DHL (they automatically declare to customs and JLPCB state the actual price in dollars which was ~$1100 USD for 50 assembled boards)
