Hi
When audio is below 10 the unit starts to cut of and the signal get distorted.
It sounds like Squelch is cutting in and out as function of RF level
Is this a function of Audio and RF gain to be linked ... ?
Is there a way to have the RF chain always open, and independently control volumen
My settings are
Filter BW = 500
AGC = ON
NR = 0
ATT = 0dB
ATT2 = 2
Noise gate = 0
f/w 2.00i
Audio cutting in and out

My (tr)uSDX's both act the same way. I just keep the volume above 10. It could be power related - what are you using for a power supply?

Hi Mike, KL7MJ
I am using pluck-in-wall power adaptor ... i did try replacing it with batteri , and found no difference.
I had been using JBL headphones (around ear), they required volumenen to around 10, and so when transmitting it heard my ear !
i did try to use in ear headphones those from an old iPhone ... and it helped the problem ... it is far from solved ... but its usable volumen is 8-9, increasing BW also help the problem.
What i dont understand is it looks like they have coupled RF-gain and audio volumen.
Thanks Niels

With a volume set to 10 the audio is supposed to sound as low volume. If this is not the case or sounds still too loud then see if there are ways to lower down the volume on your external speaker/headphones.
Below around 10 there noise floor start to disappear as the signal becomes less then the lowest DAC bit, only strongest signals are audible. Indeed this act like a squelch function the absence of noise indeed also add some distortions on signals that are just above noise floor.
So on conclusion, what you see if totally normal, try to lower down the vole on your external speaker if this bothers you.

I would stick with batteries - somewhere around 11v or better.
As far as the volume, I have mine set around 11 or 12, and I have an inline volume control on my earphones to set the volume to my comfort level.
I don't think that the RF gain is adjustable - just the AF gain.
