I got a kit from UpTech. The build was a lot of fun and took three sessions of three hours. I fired it up tonight. Without any tuning it is outputting 3 to 5.5 watts on all bands in CW mode into a dummy load. The parts seem to be of good quality. I will post more as I get practical experience. Tuning is more than half the battle for me normally.

I've ordered an assenbled rig from the Up Tech Store and got two days ago. Without any adidional tuning it is outputting 6,62 to 9,39 watts on 14,9V on all bands in CW mode into a dummy load.
The assemling was seem to be of good quality. Currently I test it.

I also ordered and received an assembled unit from Up Tech. Took awhile to get here the same as all things from AliExpress. Arrived in great shape and seems to work well.

My assembled unit (see post above) arrived last week and appears to work fine. I tried running it from a USB charger and got a lot of noise in the audio. Changing to a USB lithium pack cleaned that up. I had to adjust the reference frequency to get it to agree with my IC-7300, but not by much. It showed 2.00h as the installed firmware, but there are a bunch of firmware options selectable for some reason.

The AGC pumps pretty bad on strong then weaker then strong signals, but the attenuator helps that some.

There is a motorboating at times when I'm tuning that goes away when I press the menu key. The radio just sits there popping away until then. Anybody else seen that?

Does anyone know if the boot loader has been installed in these units? I can't see a serial number anywhere, including on the main display when the unit boots.

I'm impressed with the radio, considering it's got an 8 bit cpu running at 16 or 20 MHz. I always thought putting a multiplier in these chips was silly, but PE1NNZ has proved me wrong.

I'm going to try the radio on 13.5V this week and see what I get.

OK, the boot loader is installed, even though the serial number is not displayed. The serial number is supposed to be on the packaging which I threw away. So I had to message the guy at the Up Tech Store and he promptly sent it to me. After some errors on my part with AVRDUDESS (a new tool for me - RTFM) I got Guido's beta software uploaded successfully. All of this caused me to open the orange case and look at the boards, which are very nicely done. Toroid filters, the original op-amps as specified, and what appears to be an at328pb. While I was in there, I cut out the opening marked on the inside of the case panel for the ISP programming pins.

My 5V USB to 12V 2.1mm barrel connector voltage converter from Adafruit came today, and I tried out the radio with 12.1V on it sourced from a USB 10Ah lithium battery pack I bought at the "5 Below Store" (a remainder store) a few days ago for $10. The radio produced 5W +- 0.1W CW on every band with 1:1 SWR into a 50R dummy load. I had to use a 2.1mm barrel to 1.3mm barrel adapter to get the 12V into the radio, but it's an easy hookup. I bought the barrel adapter at All Electronics.
