I have had a number of issues due to my lack of familiarity with the AVRDUDESS program I guess.
After attempting a Program the error report I receive now is : avrdude.exe: ser_open(): can't set com-state for "\\.\COM11"
I do have COM11 specified in the port window
Device manager recognizes the Driver: USB-serial CH340 (COM11)
I am an analog guy struggling in the digital world. Any assistance appreciated.

Found the problem- a bad data cable. 1st one was a power cable, 2nd was a data cable but did not function. 3rd was the charm.

I solved the problem with the exchange of the USB cable. Two cables did not work on the third cable it worked
