usdx firmware goodies

Hi,
My understanding is that the (tr)usdx firmware is based on the usdx code and in the interview on the Hamradio Crash Course you have explained why you choose not to let everyone build their own changed version of the firmware and of course I respect your decision.
I would like to have the CW_MESSAGE_EXT option enabled in the firmware but compiling my own version of usdx code would require to first work out all the needed defines to get it working as well as the precompiled version. I'm wondering what was the reason not to enable that option (or others like CAT_EXT)? Is the space on the atmega flash at the limit, maybe?
