Hello, I am designing a battery box for 3x 18650 batteries to use with the trusdx. I need to know how to size my wires for the amp draw of the radio, I am looking at smallest form factor. What is the maximum current draw of the trusdx on tx ?
Thank you!

Hi!
At 13.5V it is less than 400mA (here 350mA into a dummy). If you work with 3S... LiIon? LiFePo4? it must be lower than that. I play around with 18650, 18350, too. Poorly I did not found a 18350 LiFoPo4 so I choosed LiIon. The good thing is: You find more under/over voltage protection boards for LiIon than for lifepo4.
You can use very thin wires...
Right now I tend to 4S 18350 LiIon (805mAh) with a BMS only for over- and undervoltage. Balancing should be extrenal (universal charge systems for 7S are cheap, starting round about 30€).
Some pics to see the sizing. A 4S 18650 is a bit high and heavy... hm... see: https://radio.feindas.de/doku.php?id=start#usdx_im_a05

Re: current draw on max power
hello, thank you for the reply.. not worried about the current anymore then. i have attached photos of the current build. the bms is already inside, just put one next to it for size. the 3d printed case is at the moment. 95x69x28 mm. using 18650 3s config and the dc jack port is 3.5x1.3. will probably use double sided velcro to attach to radio.
