Callsign burning

Ali sent me TWO identical units by mistake. I missed the Ali Msg from the vendor asking (twice) for my call, so I assume none was burnt. That's what I wanted since I have two calls (Cdn/US) anyway. Since I will have to sell the second one, it is probably better like that. My questions are:

What is the consequence of not having a callsign burnt? BTW I do not use CW.

How difficult is it for the end-user to burn it? Can it be changed once burnt?

(Forgive my use of 'burnt' - likely not the right word!)

Hello OM,

it has no consequence, so you can 100% live with it!
If you want to change it, you can go to DL2MANs Firmware side,
enter a "fantasy" Serial number for example 18 times 0:
00000000000000000
Add a callsign, doesn't mather this time.
You than can download a Firmware.
This Firmware has to be "programmed" by USB and AVRDudess (as seen in DL2MANs Video).
When you switch your trx after the programming on, it than will show your right Serial number...
Take this Serial number and enter it on the Firmware website and additionally your real callsign.
Download your real Firmware than and programm it.
Now you have a (tr)uSDX with your callsign :)

So you need your Serial number to get a working Firmware, if your seller has sent it to you, maybe there is a sticker somewhere... you can proceed with downloading immediately.

Hello all,
and then what is the advantage of having your callsign programmed in? Do you need it for anything or is it more or less just for fun?

It's just for fun. It displays your callsign in the top left corner of the OLED. If you don't customize it just says, "(tr)USDx".
