Another "SemiQSK" post

Post by KV1E »

I've had the (tr)uSDX for 2 weeks. Built from a kit. Works pretty well, outside of some minor issues that
aren't worth posting about. But... I configured it for FT8 a few days ago (in spite of the online "howto" directions being in error) It sort of worked. I'm using a laptop/WIN10/WSJTX). I use a dongle sound card and the correct "in/out" cabling. I spent more than 3 days troubleshooting a show stopping problem with the whole setup. Tried all iterations of cabling, checking for system noise, you name it. The problem stemmed after the end of a WSJTX transmission and switching to receive mode. The truSDX went to receive ok, but no audio out. Consistently. I could cure that by tapping the PTT button once and then audio magically appeared.

Turns out I use semiQSK. It was on. I turned it off. FT8 problem solved. Who woulda thunk it? With semiQSK enabled and using the PTT alone it works fine on SSB. And I had searched this forum for anyone having a similar issue.

Posted in case others are having a similar problem.

Thanks to DL2MAN and PE1NNZ and the forum members.
