After attempting to load new firmware i'm still showing a version 'i' which appears to be the same as what came with the device. below is the avrdude output from avrdudess. everything seems to be good but no change in the radio. one odd thing was the PTT seemed to be on while the radio was updating (nothing plugged into the radio but an arduino and power)
verified com9 was the com windows is showing for the arduino however i dont have any software loaded other than some stuff for USBASP which i couldn't get working to program the radio so i reverted to using the arduino instead.
pinout used
5v - VCC
GND - GND
D13 - SCK
D12 - MISO
D11 - MOSI
D10 - RESET
scratching my head on this one.

Re: Firmware not updating
Hello OM,
you programmed your Arduino with (tr)uSDX firmware...
Please connect your (tr)uSDX via USB to a PC and use avrdudess as described on DL2MAN's (tr)uSDX firmware page

Re: Firmware not updating
Maybe a reset will help, power it on with rotary encoder pressed…

Re: Firmware not updating
